The drive for personalised wellbeing solutions

According to Deloitte’s 2018 Global Human Capital Trends report, 43 per cent of respondents said wellbeing reinforces their organisation’s mission, 60 per cent said it improves employee retention, and 61 per cent reported it increases productivity and bottom-line results.

“Personalised incentives and wellbeing strategies are key points of differentiation in talent acquisition and retention, particularly in a tight labour market,” comments Erica Volini, principal at Deloitte Consulting LLP.

It’s time to get personal

Digital engagement is an extremely dynamic tool in enabling people to take accountability for their wellbeing. Ideal digital health engagement platforms create real-time health scores that change based on mind, body and lifestyle inputs, as well as from challenges or activities, and from synced devices such fitness or activity trackers.

Lynette Oat, chief growth officer at health services provider Optum, says: “With personalised programmes that have real-time feedback, around 90 per cent of participants will complete a programme or a challenge within it.”

“Ensure your wellbeing programme is tailored to an individual’s needs and is not an ‘off-the-shelf’ solution”, she adds. “Bespoke strategies that enable companies to brand their programme as their own are ideal so that it ties with the organisation’s goals and objectives.

“Real-time, online coaching, daily behaviour tracking and intelligent data enables employees to immediately see how their participation in an activity or event affects their health and wellbeing. This, in turn, drives behavioural changes in lifestyle as they are motivated to make positive, long-term changes”
